Regulated and licensed entity
GPB (Switzerland) Ltd. (formerly Gazprombank (Switzerland) Ltd) (“GPBS”) is a Swiss regulated and licensed entity and is subject to, and acts in compliance with, all relevant Swiss legal and regulatory requirements. GPBS cooperates with its regulator, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, in a transparent and open way.
General statement
GPBS advocates the development of sound regulations and internal procedures to combat financial crime, including tax evasion. These requirements are also intended to prevent GPBS from committing or facilitating – intentionally or negligently – criminal offences.
Combating money laundering, corruption and terrorist financing
GPBS recognizes its obligation to cooperate with and support regulators and law enforcement agencies in their efforts to prevent, detect and control financial crime, and to comply with AML laws and regulation to close off the financial channels that money launderers and terrorist organizations use for illicit purposes. We have also worked to ensure that we have proper policies, processes and controls in place to deter money laundering and other financial crimes against GPBS, our clients and stakeholders.
Sanctions
National authorities and supranational organisations (e.g. the United Nations and the European Union) impose restrictive measures against countries, organisations, groups, entities and individuals who infringe internationally accepted behaviours and norms, especially those who have been identified as being involved in weapons proliferation as:
- terrorists or supporters of terrorist organisations;
- violators of human rights; or
- being involved in bribery and corruption.
GPBS fully adheres to global sanctions requirements. As part of its compliance program, we have established standards by which we conduct economic sanctions screening of both customer and transaction data to ensure that GPBS does not transact or facilitate prohibited business with, on behalf of, or for the benefit of individuals who are the target of Sanctions.
In accordance with the SECO directives of preventing the circumvention of international sanctions, GPBS in no case assists or supports its clients to avoid sanctions imposed by the US and/or the EU.
Anti-bribery and Corruption
We have zero tolerance for corruption or any kind of bribery, including so-called “facilitation payments”. GPBS is committed to complying with all applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations. We have developed policies, procedures, and internal controls for complying with anti-bribery and corruption laws, and prohibit any improper promise, offer, or the provision of anything of value to government officials or to any other person for the purpose of obtaining or retaining business or influencing official action
